Turning 8

Caiden has turned 8! Although my post is a little late, a good birthday was had.  Caiden has the privilege of sharing a birthday weekend with his daddy (2nd) and grandpa (4th), so we had a bit of a staggered birthday and enjoyed lots of family time.  Friday evening was his "real" birthday. His grandparents arrived that day, he got to have a friend over to play and he got to pick the dinner menu.  (Cheesy burritos a.k.a. frozen burritos, broccoli casserole, and chocolate pie)

On Monday the 4th, we finished celebrating all three birthdays with a family bbq and gifts. The day turned out lovely, I always enjoy having family around to share these special days. What lovely memories.

 The "gift of the day" was the BB gun.  He and dad and grandpa spent the afternoon sighting it in and shooting off the porch, what fun!

We ended the day by watching fireworks from the porch. Caiden spent part of that time looking through his telescope.  We saw quite a few fireworks from our hill and will probably do it again, I loved being able to just walk inside and go to bed, rather than pack up chairs and blankets and drive through traffic, a very relaxing way to spend the end of a great day!
