Independence day 2012

Independence day in rural America.  THE highlight of the year for the community!  A small town parade is lovely.  This year my kiddos got to ride ON a float. Thanks to a local family that is very fast at putting such things together!  Year's previously, they simply enjoyed the fire engines, waved at other kids and collected scads of candy. This year, they got to wave and toss candy.  Which means they came home with NONE!!! yay!

After the parade, Ady went with daddy and friends to the car show.  Later in the afternoon, friend came to our home, we ate plenty of food to last a few days, enjoyed fabulous fellowship, tons of laughs.  Then watched the "basin's show" from the porch.  A great and relaxing day! Happy birthday America!
