Our county fair

We have gone to the fair every year. Last year. The county fair here is fabulous. It is a family fair. Which means free entrance and no alcohol. The kids and I went three times this year. Opening day we wandered around in the buildings and played in the farmyard.

The second day we rode the train, then tried to watch part of a horse show but it wasn't very exciting, so we watched the kids' pedal tractor pulls. Next up was pony rides. My friend Erika took pictures this day, so those pictures will be later! and then played in the farmyard with hannah and helena.
Today was the big day, they finally got to use their wristbands for unlimited rides. They wait ALL year for this! They are getting big. The day began with greased pig catching. Ady went in and then changed her mind. Caiden got really close several times, we'll have to work on tackling this year! Next was Alaskan Pig racing, which is fabulous giggly fun, then on to the kid pedal tractor pulls. Caiden almost finished the length. Ady got about half way, but they got a ribbon and that's what counts at 4 and 6! They went on some of the big kid rides. (with Marcy!!!! brownie points for marcy!) Caiden and Jacob went on the gravitron and tilt a whirl, adyson did the gravitron (I CANNOT believe they were big enough for those!!) On our way out there was a mother goose magic show back in the farmyard and so we stopped for that. The kids giggled and giggled all the way through, what a nice end to a long day!

The not so pleasant ending was that when we got to the parking lot I was in a three deep section (in the middle) thank goodness for cell phones and Carol's great husband Dean who came out of the fair and negotiated several tricky maneuvers to get my van out while I tried NOT to hyperventilate....one reason that teenagers maybe should NOT be parking attendants! If not for him, I think we would still be there into the night.
