We have had a fairly productive week so far. We have stayed close to home and it has been relaxing! We did go to the little library yesterday, and daddy took us out to pizza tonight...yay!
We are gearing up to start our new math curriculum. (although they don't know that.) I recently chose and ordered Miquon Math. Which is laboratory based, uses manipulatives, including cuisenaire rods and most importantly....is NOT Saxon! The kids have been exploring with the rods, their tower today was their best one so far...notice the rods start at the bottom with the biggest and end with the smallest. Every tower until this one had the rods/colors mixed throughout and had lots of disastrous falling (which of course is not necessarily a BAD thing...it is oh so fun and a bit noisy!) I am anxious to start on some of the workbook/lab pages next week, but am patiently giving them time to explore and make their own observations...translated: biting HOLES in my tongue!
The kids wanted to set up their petshop houses at the bathtub and use the tub as a HUGE petshop swimming pool. In the interest of modesty in our house, they only get to use the tub at the same time if they are wearing swimsuits. Although I couldn't tell later if they get why...because when Ady had to use the restroom, they pulled the curtain and Caiden didn't know if that would be okay, because he would still hear the toot! (as if 5 and 6 year olds don't hear that sort of thing quite regularly...especially during fits of giggles!) oh the joys of sharing bathroom space with a brother!

I enjoy hearing about your everyday life. The math sounds great. Oh, and yes, modesty is always an issue, isn't it? Sounds like you are doing great with it!
