summer walks

We do love us some nice summer walks in the sunshine.  The favorite riding toy is this pedal truck.  It has definitely seen better days, but the kids completely adore the ride.  It always involves help from someone bigger to get the truck through the rocks/gravel and onto the paved road.

Happy walking!

Today, they wanted to "tow" the wagon.  One child sits in the trunk, and holds onto the wagon while getting a free ride.
Switch!
This plan was all well and good until we headed up the hill on the way back.  Mommy got to push help.  Then I kept walking and left them to figure out how to get both back to the parking spots.  After some crying problem solving they did finally get them back!

18 weeks.  Isn't he cute?  And helpful.  I let him carry the mail the other day, he thought he was pretty hot stuff.

I love how it is the universal trait of children to think mom will carry everything home when they are tired. Emma tries this all the time on our walks. "But you can just put my bike on the stroller...". My approach sounds pretty similar to yours. :)
