Relaxing Sunday

The morning started with a visit with Grandpa. Hubby was helping grandpa with a drain project in town which was going to carry over to another day, so Grandpa came and spent the night here. We love to have him visit. The kids were thrilled with the unexpected grandpa time. He even indulged them in a game of Candyland (which he skillfully won. How he beat the Candyland Queen Ady, we'll never know.) After a breakfast of waffles with blueberries, sausage and coffee, the grown men were off to finish their project in the trench.

We had a play date arranged for the morning, so after sifting through piles in the bedrooms and making chocolate chip cookies, we were off and running with our friends. We took them on a walk to the pond, held snails, got boots stuck in the mud. Then home for grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and apple slices, then off to naps. A nice morning.
