This was my first airshow. I couldn't believe that 4 huge planes that we knew were in the sky could still sneak up on us! Caiden spent half of this morning playing with his bucket of airplanes. He even hooked 4 together and flew them like the big planes. A negative? the booths there with toys...my dear son gets stuck, literally, on buying a new useless toy. He is extremely persistent and it nearly ruined the afternoon. I wish there weren't so many useless toys and trinkets out there. They not only do not enhance the experience but only encourage my kiddos to always want another something to store in their room or break and forget.
On Sunday we went to Jacob's birthday. Jacob had his party at a campground. Jacob's grandma made marshmallow blow guns. We missed the initial battle, but the kids still had fun. We may have to make this a regular occurence. Caiden and Jacob have been "friends" since Jacob was 13 days old..in fact Marcy and I met at Caiden's baby shower. We were neighbors who soon were walking our little ones together trying to battle the new mommy bulge! Now they live a little farther away but not so far that we can't get together and enjoy the kids playing together about once a month. The boys will enter kindergarten this fall and there will be many changes. Have I really been a mommy for 5 years(next week) ??? Soooo much has changed inside of me during this time. What an awesome journey, this motherhood business.
While at the party, the kids had great cupcakes with pink frosting. (My kids both had two) Roasted marshmallows. And even fished with one of the grandpa's. This was Caiden's first experience with fishing and he announced this morning after getting dressed...as he headed to the door, "I'm going fishing". I should have let him go just to see what he was going to do. We do have a couple ponds on the place that are often fished (just not by us) and he has absolutely no idea where the fishing gear might be...but oh golly, he was gonna go fishing! Perhaps the desire for fish has skipped a generation...or perhaps he hasn't grasped the idea of eating the catch at the end of the day, and we wont even discuss the cleaning of the slimy ones!

A marshmallow blow gun sounds like fun! A few father's days ago, we made marshmallow sling shots and set up a "hunting" range for the guys- there are a lot of fun things to do with those squishy treats!
Caiden sounds so cute, going fishing, LOve the pic
The pics turned out great! I think it's adorable that Caiden now wants to go fishing. We'll have to arrange an outing.
